any good corned beef recipes in a crock pot?
also how do i order corn beef..is it from the deli section of a grocery store? (first time cook)
Yes, I do, and you will find it in the meat section usually in a cryovac package, and along with the corned beef, there should be a packet of spice inside the package,you’ll find them in any well stocked grocery store especially around this time of year, and definately during the month of March, for St Patrick’s Day, corned beef is simple in a crock pot……when you get the corned beef home, open the package in the sink, (this can get messy, but not too) rinse the corned beef off with water and then place it in the crock pot insert and then put the insert into it’s holder and to it, add either water or beer or a combination of both, enough so that the corned beef is covered by about an inch of liquid; add the contents of that little spice packet that I mentioned and turn the crock pot on LOW and put the cover on it……..After 3 hours, add carrots, peeled and cut in thirds, a quartered onion, small red potatoes, scrubbed and halved, and some black pepper. Return the lid to the crock pot and turn the heat to HIGH for an additional 2 hours……..Presto, see how easy that was??? When you get ready to chow down, remove the corned beef from the slow cooker and place fat side up on a cutting board and scrape of all the fat with a knife, then cut it across the grain of the meat into 1/4 inch slices and serve on a platter with the veggies…….Don’t stress about this one, it’s super easy for a first timer…….Good luck, hope this helps
