I am going to register for my wedding soon and I really need help in the cooking department. What cook books do you suggest I register for. What do you find helpful?

There are a number of excellent “beginner” cookbooks out there for the new wife or husband. I recommend one of the following:
Betty Crocker Cookbook
The Joy of Cooking
Culinary Arts Institute Encyclopedic Cookbook
Woman’s Home Companion Cookbook
Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook –
Fannie Farmer Cookbook also called The Original Boston Cooking School Cookbook by Fannie Merritt Farmer
All are excellent with explanations on doing things. My fav is Culinary Arts Institute Encyclopedic Cookbook, my mother’s is Woman’s Home Campanion Cookbook and my Aunt’s is the Fannie Farmer Cookbook.
So it’s your choice on the cookbooks. I’m sure others will have their favorites as well.
I have all of the above plus many more over the years. I love to cook and bake.
