Cookbook Southern

Cookbook Southern
I’m looking for a particular Southern Cookbook?

Ok so I have no idea what the book’s title is. But I know that the cover is light pink with a back and white picture of an African-American lady on it, who is the author. Inside with each recipe she gives a memory to go with it like when she was growing up. And one recipe is an amazingly sweet strawberry cake.

I’m trying to find the book as a Christmas present for my sister. She has checked it out of the library a dozen times already but she refuses to buy it for herself. I know I could ask her but then she would probably know what I was up to.
Thank You so much I found the cookbook on that website. Wow you have no idea how much you’ve helped me! ^-^

Try this web site: http://www.ecookbooks.com/c-4-african-american.aspx –
It has about 3 or so dozen African-American cook books by female cooks; I saw two or three that had pink covers on them with the cook on the front. You’d be the best to find the one you want.
I hope this helps you in your search. Good Luck!
Happy Holidays!

If she has checked it out from the library, call them and get the name, it would make your search a lot easier.
I wish you the best!

The Redneck Cooker: A Deep Down Southern Cookbook

The Redneck Cooker: A Deep Down Southern Cookbook

$28.6

I wanted to do a cookbook and I guess this is it. Inside you will find some of my favorite recipes that are guaranteed to accomplish whatever hopes and dreams you have for the meal you are preparing. I started cooking when I was very young. This is not your typical cookbook, because I think that the teachers are as important as their cooking and deserve more credit than the recipes they provided. I hope you enjoy this book and that it helps you to become the cook your family wants you to be.I normally dont use a recipe. I simply throw things together haphazardly until they taste good. Its worked well for me for thirty years and Ive never had any complaints and never poisoned anyone. It worked equally well for my Mother and Grandmother. Im of the opinion that you can cook or you cant. Good cooks can be made and if they work hard and pay attention, they can create meals that others enjoy, but great cooks are simply born and Id like to believe that Im one of the latter. The Soul of Southern Cooking

The Soul of Southern Cooking

$42.9

Here is a collection of representative authentic soul food dishes for those who want the real thing. Most of the recipes were learned by the author from her grandmother, Frances Fleming Hunter, a cook whose caf was in the little Mississippi town of Hollandale.Kathy Starr compiled these recipes as a tribute to her grandmother, whom she remembers amid big pots of greens and vegetables that were bubbling on the stove as she stirred up the cornbread. Hunger, she says, was something the black family had to conquer, and it was a must that simple foods make a delicious meal. My grandma, even today, can tell you stories of how proud she felt about her sister Malindy, who would walk up out of the cotton field and find company sitting on the steps and then would take a shelf of nothing and make the best meal you ever tasted. While this cookbook does preserve the foodways of southern African Americans of the past, the recipes are food traditions that live today in the rural South. The author has included also recipes that are traditional treatments of more recently available foods, such as lobster with cornbread stuffing. Author: Starr, Kathy Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 220 Publication Date: 1989/10/01 Language: English Dimensions: 9.25 x 7.50 x 0.46 inches
