Having membership of the National Home Gardening Club also qualifies you to participate in member forums as well. You get to flash your knowledge in the form of write-ups on the bulletin boards. There is a good possibility that many other member gardeners will leave their comments or remarks about your postings, thus leading to a healthy interaction. If you desire more real time and live interaction, you can head to the Clubs Chat room. There is also the provision for you and other members to exchange photographs with the help of a built in application called the National Home Gardening Clubs Member Photo Page.

The members get several opportunities to win exciting prizes as well. Contests like click to win can earn them handy prizes like the Empires Riding Mower Deck washer, natural compost tea by Merrill’s or the Earth Box’s ready to grow gear. Another interesting contest named Garden Giveaway distributes prizes like chipper shredders, cast aluminum settees or greenhouses from Poly-Tex. One can participate in the yearly photograph contest and a web quiz too.

When you enroll in for the free trial membership at the National Home Gardening Club, you’re gifted a free edition of the Gardening How-to magazine, an E-newsletter, a free public garden dictionary and a free of cost gardening shears too! LANDSCAPE PLANNING FOR SMALL HOMES By E. G. DAVIS CHAPTER I WHAT IS LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE When a group of persons see parks being graded and planted, or a neighbws yard being Iaid out, one will say that it is landscape gardening, another calls it landscape architecture, and still anothcr rcmarks that it is fine gardening. Is it possible that any one of these terms means the same to all three persons, or to othcrs A florist may think of landscape gardening in terms of beddingout plants and of round m square beds cut out of the lawn. A gardener or horticulturist my have visions of hardyperennial flower borders. Stately Homes of California

Stately Homes of California

$35.09

These chapters upon certain important houses and gardens in California have, with there own particular value of consideration and criticism, the value of the record. The book makes another milestone on the long road we have travelled so rapidly (socially, agriculturally and horticulturally) since the Padres came bringing with them the olive and vine. Something remains the Mission garden hints of the plan of the quadrangle of flower and shrubs in or beyond the cloisters, and yielding in turn to the no less formal alleys of the orchard; and this rightness of design is perceptible still about the old Spanish residences that, here and there dot the valleys of California. One wonders what seed of purely ornamental trees and flowers these Spanish priests brought in their pockets for their own spiritual delight and to assuage their nostalgia? The Italian cypress seems to have been widely planted from the first, and the oleander, and the rough Castilian rose, and our common horehound, covering all our foothills, is said to be an estray from the priests old garden of simples. Garden

Garden

$106.74

A garden is a planned space, usually outdoors, set aside for the display, cultivation, and enjoyment of plants and other forms of nature. The garden can incorporate both natural and manmade materials. The most common form is known as a residential garden. Western gardens are almost universally based around plants. Zoos, which display wild animals in simulated natural habitats, were formerly called zoological gardens. The etymology of the word refers to enclosure: it is from Middle English gardin, from AngloFrench gardin, jardin, of Germanic origin; akin to Old High German gart, an enclosure. The words yard, court, and Latin hortus (meaning garden, hence horticulture and orchard), are cognates all referring to an enclosed space. The term garden in British English refers to an enclosed area of land, usually adjoining a building. This would be referred to as a yard in American English. Some traditional types of eastern gardens, such as Zen gardens, use plants such as parsley. Xeriscape gardens use local native plants that do not require irrigation or extensive use of other resources while still providing the benefits of a garden environment. Homes for the Country

Homes for the Country

$35.09

As the Arts and Crafts movement of the late 19th century offered the dream of exchanging the squalor and ugliness of cities for a more relaxed, aesthetically pleasing lifestyle, architect Robert Alexander Bungalow Briggs was the leading proponent of a new type of housing embodying the movements ideals. Following the success of his 1891 book Bungalows and Country Residences, in 1909 Briggs published Homes for the Country, aiming to inspire that numerous class who contemplate building a house but who are unable to decide in what form their ideas may be carried out. This remastered edition features Briggs varied designs for light, spacious dwellings. Detailed line drawings and floor plans are accompanied by notes on layout and construction. Homes for the Country is a fascinating and inspiring look into the creative mind of a man lauded by architects, historians and designers alike. The Homes of Football

The Homes of Football

$71.7

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Homes Of Football (1989present) is an ongoing collection of work by the photographer Stuart Roy Clarke. Pictures from the collection are displayed in an art gallery of the same name in Ambleside, Cumbria, England. Comprising over 100,000 images, The Homes Of Football represents one of the largest collections of football photography in the world. Though largely focusing on the British Isles, the collection also features clubs from around the world. The earliest photograph in the collection is of four boys at Clydebank FC in 1989 a club and ground that has since disappeared. During the 1990s, Clarke made thousands of trips to football matches, photographing the crowd and the grounds themselves. This focus on the ordinary football supporter, rather than the more glamorous side of the game, led to an article in The Times claiming that if Nick Hornby gave the fan a voice in the nineties, Clarke has given the fan a face. The Garden

The Garden

$11.95

A mysterious garden, an oasis of plenty in the midst of a blighted New England countryside. From there, however, we enter a world of cutting edge biochemistry, experimentation with DNA and implanted memories, of modifications of nearmicroscopic life, albeit still in a gothic setting more reminiscent, perhaps, of authors like Hawthorne or Poe. Add to this setting the reclusive daughter, Alma Sharp, of an almost legendary invertebrate zoologist, mix with a graduate student from Boston, Steven Kerridge, whose upcoming thesis is based on the work of Sharps father, and what results is a cocktail of science and love, of death and horror, a horror that ultimately will spill out to the world beyond.
