
amazing 30-40 minute meals?
i leave from work at 5 and by the time i get home am tired and hungry. I Love cooking for my husband but i want fast and delicious meals. Does anyone have any? please this would really help.( we love chicken, pasta, actually we are not picky)

2 pounds of good ground beef1 pound of New York sharp cheddar cheeseGranulated garlic2 (15 ounce) cans of tomato sauceSalt and pepper
Form eight equal patties from the meat. Cut the cheese into slices, place equal amounts of cheese on half the patties and place remaining patties on top of cheese. Pinch the edges so cheese doesn?t leak out. Sprinkle the bottom of the pot with granulated garlic, brown patties on each side (there?s no need for oil) and cover with tomato sauce. Cook until done over medium heat for about thirty minutes.
*Bacon Cheese Franks
8 hot dogsCheddar cheese cut in strips8 slices bacon
Slice hot dog lengthwise 2/3 deep. Fill each hot dog with cheese. Wrap each one with a slice of bacon. Broil until bacon is done (about ten minutes). Good served with baked beans and cole slaw.
*Easy Sunday Ham Recipe
Any size ham for your family needs (approximately ½ pound per person)1/3 cup yellow mustard1/3 cup brown sugar (light or dark)For larger ham increase these amounts
Mix mustard and sugar. Coat ham thoroughly with mixture. Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees. Tent with aluminum foil and bake for approximately 1 hour per pound. Excellent as a leftover.
*Roast and Noodles
3 pound boneless chuck roast (trimmed)Granulated garlic3 bay leaves1 (14 ounce can whole mushrooms)
2 (28 ounce cans) tomato sauce1 lb. egg noodles (cooked according to package directions)
Sprinkle bottom of large pot to cover with granulated garlic. Brown chuck roast on both sides. Cover with tomato sauce, mushrooms and bay leaves. Cook on medium low heat about 2 hours. Remove roast and place on a platter. Remove bay leaves from sauce. Mix noodles with sauce. All you need to complete the meal is a green salad.
*Pork Tenderloin
3 to 4 pound pork tenderloin1 medium onion chopped1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauceA few shots of Worcestershire sauce
Place the tenderloin on a large piece of aluminum foil. Mix the other ingredients and spread over meat. Close foil and put on a shallow pan. Bake at 35 degrees for about 5 hours. Slice meat into medallions and pour gravy over meat. Serves 6 to 8 people.
*Sloppy Joes
2 pounds lean ground chuck1 medium onion chopped1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauceGranulated garlicSaltHamburger buns
Brown meat and onion. Add tomato sauce and granulated garlic and salt to taste. Serve on hamburger buns.
Baby Spinach with Almonds and Cranberries Recipe
2 Packages of pre- washed baby spinach1 six ounce package Almonds1 six ounce package dried cranberries1 package blue cheese1 jar vinaigrette dressing
Re wash the greens, drain well.Toss in a large salad bowl, mix in cranberries, almonds and crumble in the blue cheese. Serve individually and top with vinaigrette dressing.
Caesar Potato Salad
4 boiled or micro waved potatoes2 bags of Caesar salad with dressing from supermarket4 hard bolted eggs cut in quartersAnchovies
Combine the cut up potatoes with the lettuce and dressing, hard boiled eggs and anchovies (if desired). Serves 8 to 10.
Creamed Corn
¼ cup butter2 ½ cups fresh corn kernels cut from the cob (6 to 8 ears) ½ cup milk1 tablespoon cornstarch1 tablespoon sugar ½ teaspoons salt
Cut corn kernels from cob with a grater, using the large side, then scrape the cob with a dull knife to release corn milk. Melt butter in a large heavy skillet using medium heat, stir in milk and corn kernels. Sprinkle with cornstarch, sugar and salt. Stir well. Stir mixture constantly and bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer stirring constantly 10 to 12 minutes.Serve immediately.
Cooked Fresh Green Beans
1 pound of fresh green beans3 to 4 quarts of water4 strips of bacon
In a 5 to 6 quart pot brown bacon and add water. Wash drain and pick over beans whole or snapped in pieces. Add beans to boiling water and cook softly until tender. To heat and serve later immerse in cold water and seal in a zip lock bag. To reheat immerse in hot water for a few minutes. Chicken stock may be substituted for the bacon.
Cinnamon Stewed Apples
12 cups of granny smith apples (about 4 pounds) sliced1 cup brown sugar ½ cup of apple juice2 teaspoons ground cinnamon ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg ¼ teaspoon salt
Put everything in a large heavy saucepan. Cover and cook low to medium heat 45 minutes to an hour or until apples are tender, stir occasionally. Let stand for five minutes.The mixture will thicken when it cools.
Cheese Fries
2 pounds of baking potatoes peeled and cut in thin strips1 ½ tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese1 tablespoon vegetable oil ¼ teaspoon salt ¼ tablespoons garlic powder ¼ teaspoon paprika ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Heat oven to 450 degrees. Put all ingredients in a zip bag or plastic bag and shake until all are well coated. Place single layer on a cookie sheet. Bake for about 35 minutes or until golden brown.
Caramelized Onions
2 large sweet onions, chopped ¼ cup butter or bacon drippings½ teaspoon of salt
Melt butter or add bacon drippings, to a large heavy skillet over medium heat. Add onions and sat and sauté for 20 minutes or until caramelized. Makes about two cups.
Deviled Eggs
12 large eggs4 tablespoons mayonnaise3 tablespoons sweet pickle relish2 teaspoons prepared mustard ¼ teaspoons saltDash of pepperSprinkle of paprika for the top
Place eggs in a sauce pan, add water to cover, bring to a boil cover, remove from heat and let stand 15 minutes. Drain and fill pot with cold water and ice. Tap with the back of a teaspoon until cracks all over and use spoon to peel under running water. Slice eggs in half lengthwise and carefully remove yolks. Mash yolks with mayonnaise, add relish, mustard, salt and pepper, and stir well. Spoon yolk mixture back into egg whites. Garnish with a sprinkle of paprika. This is one of the best side dishes around.
Asparagus
Start with a pot of lightly salted boiling water. Add 1 pound of asparagus trimmed and washed. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes or until tender. Toss asparagus into a skillet with a few tablespoons of olive oil and a few toes of garlic and sauté for a few minutes. Serve hot.
