How many times in the past 10 seasons has the best team actually won the World Series?
And when I say best team, I mean the best in the league not the best team that made it to the World Series. Also, is this a good or bad thing, in your opinion?
By the way, I think it’s great when a team comes out of nowhere and wins it all. The ’88 Dodgers, the ’90 Reds, the ’06 Cardinals…that’s why playoff baseball is so fun to watch. It’s not automatically the best team (i.e. Yankees most years) that always wins.

I don’t understand why someone listed the 2001 D-Backs when the Mariners won 116 games that year and 5 other teams had better records.
I think it’s good that an underdog wins in MLB since the large market teams are the ones consistently winning.
